On the historic launch, Perth Bears CEO Anthony De Ceglie said the Foundation Memberships were a landmark moment for the club, the NRL and the State of Western Australia.

“We want to build something that our community owns and believes in, and that starts by giving our supporters the chance to be first through the door,” De Ceglie said.

“Since the announcement of the Perth Bears, the demand for rugby league in WA has been unbelievable, and today we’re giving fans the chance to say that they were here from Day One and we intend to make that something worth celebrating.

“We truly believe we are the most exciting story in Australian sport, and this is a chance to be a part of that story from the very start.”

Head Coach Mal Meninga said Foundation Members would be part of the Bears’ vision forever.

“We’re building a strong squad with a culture built to compete at the highest level, and having the backing of our first members, from today, will give us a real foundation to build from,” he said.
