Glory ranked best in Hyundai A-League membership satisfaction

An independent audit commissioned by Football Federation Australia tasked with examining membership satisfaction across the Hyundai A-League, has ranked Perth Glory Football Club members as the most satisfied in the league.


The report prepared by The Gemba Group, a leading authority in the changing world of sport and entertainment, surveyed more than five-thousand Hyundai A-League club members to measure customer satisfaction with their clubs, focusing on the following key categories:

  • Membership Package Value Proposition
  • Involvement in Club
  • Purchasing the Membership
  • Club Administration
  • On-Field Performance
  • Game Day Experience
  • Marketing and Communications

The annual club benchmarking report found Perth Glory Football Club not only ranked first for overall membership satisfaction in the Hyundai A-League, but its members were the most satisfied with the benefits and value of their membership packages, as well as the game day experience offered at nib Stadium.


Perth Glory members were also found to have been the most satisfied across the league with the club’s marketing and communication.


Overall the report ranked Peth Glory first in six of the seven key areas, excelling particularly in the membership purhcase and renewal process which well exceeded the league average.


Club CEO Peter Filopoulos said the findings, which coincided with both the record club membership of 8,644 (a 21% increase in 2016/17, the 3rd highest increase in the league) and the record season average attendance of 10,500 (17% increase on last year), was a testament to the hard work of the marketing, membership and event teams.


“This is a very significant and pleasing achievement for our club. We have worked hard not only increasing our membership levels, but also to provide a great membership offering and game day experience.
"We set our vision to be the leading football club in Australia, on and off the field, and a club in which Western Australians can always be proud of. I think the findings in this report reinforces our commitment to our strategic plan.


"As a club, we are still in pursuit of our first A-League silverware to add to our two National Soccer League Championships. We also aspire to participate in the AFC Champions League within the next couple of years. This pursuit will continue throughout the finals and will be firmly front of mind as we plan for the 2017/18 A-League season" he said.
FIlopoulos stressed however, the hard work had only just begun.


“This is no time to rest on our laurels. Our focus turns to next season aiming for 10,000 members and average crowds of 12,500 at nib Stadium".

The findings come on the eve of the club’s last game of the regular Hyundai A-League season where Glory will host Melbourne City on Easter Sunday at nib Stadium.
